You might have heard that "Yats" has made a great recently: according to him during WWII the USSR invaded the Ukraine and Germany.  I would expect no less of him.  But the truly pathetic part came from the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs which declared that it respected Yats' right to free speech.

In other news, the Ukrainian junta has resumed and even dramatically stepped up the shelling of Novorussia.  So far, the firing appears to be of the typical terror strikes kind - randomly aimed at the civilian sectors but this could also be a way to probe the Novorussian counter-battery fire capabilities and artillery positions (thanks for the counter-battery radars delivered by the USA to the Nazis).

The most worrisome development, however, is the confirmation by Foreign Minister Lavrov that the Russians have intelligence showing that the Ukrainian junta is preparing for a full scale assault on Novorussia.  This would make perfect sense: now that the entire world has its eyes focused on the wonderful show of unity by the world for freedom of speech and against terrorism, it is a prefect time for a bloodbath in Novorussia.

Germans are angry with their leaders and have been screwed over as well

Dear friends,

I sometimes get very interesting emails in my inbox and this happened today when I found the email below sent to me by "M". Having read it I immediately contacted "M" to ask for his permission to post it here. I felt that this would be especially important since I posted the "Appeal" of Egor Prosvirnin which some of you interpreted as anti-German and then accused me of also harboring anti-German feelings.  As I explained it later, my intention had been to make people aware that there is a growing anger against Germany in Russia and that even though I personally did not feel that anger, I considered that anger legitimate, if not necessarily deserved (I soon realized that the most vociferous and nasty protests against this post did not come from Germans or even Germanophiles, but from the same old crowd of neo-Nazis who strongly feel that defending anything German is part of their ethos).  Still, I have to admit that I felt bad about the whole thing (because, believe it or not, I am not only not anti-German, I don't even believe in collective, nevermind inherited, guilt).  For one thing, as an anti-Soviet Russian myself, I know the very difficult situation of a person who opposes the regime in power in his country, but still feels that his own people are also victims.  There are quite a few countries and nationalities who still are resentful and angry with Russians, especially for things which the Soviet forces did during WWII, and I consider that this resentment and anger is legitimate even if sometimes historically one-sided.  It is always tough to be at the receiving end of somebody's anger - whether fully deserved or not - and so when I saw "M" email I decided to share it with you and I am grateful to "M" for giving me his permission.

Seeing the hatred and outright ill will some have towards Germans really brought me down. It makes me wonder how we are ever going to manage to have some kind of stability in Europe and the world...

Here are some of the dynamics in Germany, as I see them. Most likely many will disagree and want to debate them, I don't claim they are how it is, just how I see it. I don't claim to know and understand it all. But it's something I would like people to think about, before they write off the German people as a whole.

Where do I start? Something that should be obvious is that Germany is not a free and sovereign country. From the start, when the Federal Republic was conceived, the Allies had a great influence on shaping the new Germany. Especially the Americans. It is somewhat subtle if you are used to how things are, but once you start observing it becomes clear that the American political circles have great influence on ours. Anyone interested can take a look at how many of our Politicians in the various established parties are members in transatlantic clubs. So guess where their allegiance lies? They are not even ashamed of it, it's normal to them. For decades we've had what you can call US whores. Not long ago I complained about that on a page of young transatlanticists and was quickly accused of being anti-American, they weren't interested in any of my arguments. Being anti-American is hardly possible since I am an American citizen. There is a divide between the common people, many of whom don't have anything against Americans but are not too keen on having them involved in German affairs, and many of our leaders who try to make us all believe that we need the United States as partner, come what may. One fact that should make anyone pause is that there are currently still around 40.000 US troops on German soil and various US bases. It may not sound like much, but in principle should any be here at all? We have US nuclear warheads here, the maintenance of which is also paid for by German tax payers money. If you asked the average German what he thought about that, you can be sure that they would be against that. “Ami go home” is a more and more open sentiment here. “American go home”. But will the Americans go? I doubt it. It seems they do not have the slightest interest in granting Germany full sovereignty and of letting go. So the question begs: how free are German politicians to do what they want? And then, how “natural” is the influence Germany has on the shaping of European affairs?

I can fully understand that many in Europe resent Germany, due to the dominating of EU policies and the problems they cause. What many don't know though is that the current administration and the previous ones have been equally harsh on Germans. German politicians don't just sell Europeans out, but their own people. The climate here has changed drastically in past years. People are having increasingly hard times to make a living and are in fear, fear of loosing their jobs, fear of making ends meet, fear of loosing what they have. Fear is the perfect mechanism of keeping people in check. The contempt and the lack of any shame on the part of our government has never been this drastic before. Careful observers have seen it for years. Why people keep voting for the same parties is beyond me. There are some who say voter fraud could be at play. It would not surprise me. At the very least the media have been extremely pro Merkel for years, even campaigning for her and her party, when they should have been neutral. Every once and a while that has been criticized but nothing changes and many don't even notice. Merkel's policies are always aimed at business elites, not the common people. I remember how years ago she spoke of “market conformed democracy”. There was no outcry, no outrage. No one seemed to care. As in most places, the elites own the media as well. So honest and critical reporting has become a thing of the past, unless one watches carefully and knows where to look. The average person doesn't. So if people are angry with Germans, I wish they would know that Germans are angry with our leaders as well and have been screwed over as well. Why Germans put up with that? Good question. This is a subject of its own. My impression is that Germans have always been people that are good at following and bowing to higher ups. They are terribly long suffering, in a bad way. After the Second World War Germans have been pacified as a people, in my opinion. Imagine having the mindset of being aware of things you dislike and that anger you, but thinking that somehow it'll be alright, that life must go on. You go through the motions. And then add a state of paralysis and helplessness. Perhaps that is what is going on with Germans. Of course those that have the upper hand and benefit from the current status have a vested interest in keeping things the way they are. It is unrealistic to expect Germans to magically snap out of it and overthrow the status quo. And though it is not obvious we do have a police apparatus in place that can quickly stomp out any uprising.

I will not deny that Germans can be arrogant in their views. But there is a constant stream of medial manipulation feeding them that perspective. I know that deep down Germans want peace and have no interest in dominating other Nations and people. Many are actually appalled and shocked because our leaders are calling for more involvement in conflicts and taking on more “responsibility”. People see that as dangerous and hypocritical. The problem is that the (you can only call it) “political cast” is so far gone and so far out of touch with the common people. There is a complete disconnect. I see it on Facebook postings of Steinmeier, Gabriel and many others. They live in their own world, facts and reality do not exist for them. And their personal integrity and values are non existent. Calling them pathetic would still be a compliment. It is not any different with our media. Regularly you get to see statistics that suggest people to be skeptic of Putin and Russia. Every time many speak out and question these. Sometimes there are polls in which readers can take part and they say the opposite, that people see through the lies and are not in favor of sanctions and do not want a conflict with Russia, that they do not want anything to do with the crimes committed in the Ukraine. There's a saying “don't trust any statistic that you haven't forged yourself.” There have been statistics for years, that suggest Merkel having very high support among people.. To me it's a mystery how she has been in power for so long. I guess there still are many idiots who believe in her, but there are also very many who would like to see the worst happen to her.

Many people see that when the wall came down and the two Germanies were reunited, the Soviets/Russians were fair. Just think about how much time has passed, when have the United States and the British made an attempt at the same fairness? I'm afraid the US would rather see Germany in ruins yet again, rather than leaving and giving the Germans freedom. I understand the resentment that many have for Germans, but am also shocked by how much hatred there is. Is it not the same principle in most places, that Governments do not act in accord with and represent the will of the people? And to what degree can we count on the will of the people when they are not given accurate information and facts, but are fed half truths at best and outright manipulation most of the time? Ironically I see a lot of Americans accusing us of cowardice for not taking a more aggressive stance against Russia. The same with the Polish. Merkel's behavior in this crisis makes no sense to me at all. At times she is bullying Russia, like the perfect US poodle, but then there are reports of her reaching out to Putin. Either she is completely soul less without a personal sense of direction, or she is more devious than she appears. No idea what her true aims are. They certainly don't seem to be what they should be. Part of her vow when sworn into office is to avert harm from the German people. She is steadily doing the opposite. She and her cronies along with her.

It seems that we are prisoners of a political apparatus gone insane, both on a German level and a EU level. Then there's NATO on top of that. And lets be realistic, the cards are stacked in favor of the higher ups. That is no excuse for giving up, which I am not suggesting, but haters need to take a close look at reality. Finding solutions is not that easy, is it? So, this is part of what I observe, I bet I forgot a lot. My health is not too well and my strength limited.

The consent of Germany to economic sanctions against Russia will change Putin's position and will accelerate Novorossiya's victory

In the global conflict of Russia and the USA which consequence war in Ukraine turned out to be also, there is an important change which will affect all fronts where Russia resists to atlantist. Germany, some months resisting to pressure of the USA, conceded and agreed to enter economic sanctions. This step seriously will influence Putin's tactics in the Ukrainian events.

It is quite probable that sectoral sanctions against Russia will be agreed on Tuesday at a meeting of constant representatives of EU countries and will mention finance, power, arms, production of a dual purpose. If offers of European Commission are accepted, already in the next few days they will be approved at meeting of Council of EU. About introduction of new sanctions against Russia it was spoken and during Obama's conversation with leaders of England, France, Germany and Italy.

Last week there were doubts that Anglo-Saxons will manage to press through Germany, but statements of the German ministers and industrialists practically don't leave in recent days doubts that Berlin "ripened". Germany approves introduction of sectoral sanctions against Russia, the representative of the government of Germany declared on Monday to Christiana Virtts: "The government supports a concrete sectoral package of measures". And the president of Federal association of the German industry Ulrich Grillo told that it supports sanctions: "Policy time came".

Considering that Germany was the main obstacle for introduction of sectoral sanctions, now they become almost inevitable. It is clear that their first portion can be rather limited both on scale, and on time, but that the USA after all could force Europeans is important to join their policy not only political, but also the economic pressure and isolation of Russia, following which, Washington expects to force Moscow to give up on Ukraine. The rupture of Europe with Russia becomes even more important in the light of transatlantic partnership actively advanced by the USA, that is attempt to create the common Atlantic market, having connected two largest economic zones of the world and having put them under the Anglo-Saxon management. Thus, the decision of Germany and EU becomes truly historical – from the category such which define the direction and a history course.

Vladimir Putin also proceeded from such understanding of a role of Berlin, defining tactics of actions of Russia everything the last months when the Ukrainian crisis took already the form of real war. Putin threw down a challenge of the USA and to the Anglo-Saxon global project – without having attached the Crimea, and much earlier, having returned to the Kremlin in 2012. Attempt to take away Ukraine from the Russian world was the main answer of the West to return of Russia in big game. But from the very beginning of a sharp phase of the Ukrainian crisis Russia tried not only to prevent "stealing of Ukraine", but also to play on contradictions in the West – considering that interests of the USA and Europe, first of all Germany, don't coincide at all. Certainly, Putin didn't create illusions on independence of Germany – Germany represents the state with the limited sovereignty (and not only because of entry into the military block of NATO, and owing to a number of the obvious and secret mechanisms allowing Anglo-Saxons to control elite of this largest country of Europe). But he staked on acceleration of process of gradual release of Germans from dense Atlantic guardianship – the process, going already many years and gaining strength even before the Ukrainian crisis.

National conceiving part of the German elite perfectly understands that our two countries are objective partners the normal relations between which do a situation in Europe steady practically to any manipulations of Anglo-Saxon geopoliticians. Also remembers what exactly the wrong assessment of Russia from Germany (and in many respects thanks to suggestions of island strategists) twice for the last century led the country to national accident. There are no doubts that Anglo-Saxons are ready and to push off our two countries for the third time, having set Germany on Russia – this time economically. But in process of collecting of big Europe going now interests of Germany which in every possible way insists on deepening of political integration, in a root contradict interests of Anglo-Saxon globalizator which want to see in the European Union not independent, especially kontinentalno, German - the focused force, and obedient east wing of global "West", own world project.

Independence of Germany, as well as construction on this base of the building of the independent European Union, it is possible only when forming not hostile, partnership with Russia. With big Russia which will inevitably restore the borders and influence, let and in the form of the Euroasian union. And the global Berlin axis – Moscow – Beijing is at all capable to move the center of gravity in world geopolitics to the Euroasian continent, having buried present hegemonic claims of atlantist.

Crisis round Ukraine became manifestation of all these contradictions – it aggravated them and raised an edge many questions which in a peace time could be solved more slowly. Moscow staked on that the American game in isolation of Russia becomes the catalyst of process of emancipation of Germany. Certainly, nobody counts on a prompt gap – Putin's purpose was to achieve a conditional neutrality of Germany (so and Europe) in the conflict of Russia and the USA. For the sake of it Russia was ready to go to a lot of things – except, of course, delivery of national interests and refusal of fight for Ukraine. But peace, neutral Ukraine quite could would like to become for the next years a form of the Russian-European cooperation – if Europe was ready to define itself the policy concerning Kiev and would refuse support of plans of the USA on pull-in of Ukraine under the Atlantic umbrella. Alas, both in Brussels, and in Berlin weren't ready to admit that simple fact that Russia won't allow secession of part of the Russian world under the guise of eurointegration. The German dreams of fertile Ukrainian soil ("Chernozem"), desire to create one more buffer state under control of Germans and separating them from Russia , – all this together with urgings and manuals from Washington moved original national interests and cool calculation. It won't be possible for USA to tear off Ukraine from Russia – neither with help of Germany, nor without it. But to quarrel Germany with Russia is quite possible for Americans. That, as a matter of fact, they want to achieve. Really, after all, even in case of loss of Ukraine by them (that American realistic strategists are ready for long ago) Washington will have pleasant and very big prize – the possibility of the German-Russian rapprochement broken for many years. From the very beginning of the Crimean events Putin understood that chances of split of Germany and the USA are minimal – but they were, and he absolutely prudently tried to play on it. The intrigue with the German approval of sanctions and connection to blockade lasted some months and became one of the most intense secret fights in world history. Russia initially didn't do the main rate on disintegration of the united western front – we at once declared that in case the USA and EU will really try to organize isolation and blockade, we are ready to develop to the East and the South. Especially as Russia will build new, world architecture alternative to Anglo-Saxons – together with the absolute majority of the world community which long ago was already waiting the one who will throw down a challenge to owners of the Globalist Project.

Attack of the USA on Russia is not caused by Ukraine – on the contrary, the Ukrainian crisis turned out to be only consequence of America's desire to hold on the escaping world hegemony, to prevent restoration of historical Russia, the only force in the world, capable openly resist to the Anglo-Saxon project. Liberation of Germany from guardianship of atlantist is postponed, but not cancelled – if, of course, to recognize that the German people has the right for own future and wants to save itself from dissolution in a melting copper of globalization. But at this stage Germans (their elite is more exact) made the choice – and Russia is ready to resist to a uniform position of the West, continuing both to defend the national interests, and to increase approach on the world scene, building the front from civilizations and the states interested in new rules of global game. One of the most important consequences of policy of Putin on the German front was that with Novorossiya Moskva officially took a non-interference position in a situation – not to facilitate the USA their work on arm-twisting of Germany. Now the situation changes – Europe, that is Berlin, declares Russia war, let and economic, let and with reservations. In the war other laws work already, and Germans shouldn't be surprised when it will become clear that their decision to join the American blockade of Russia will lead to that Moscow recognizes Novorossiya soon.

And toughening of economic sanctions will lead not to a collapse of the Russian economy, but to fall of the Kiev's regime. In this world everything is connected, after all Vladimir Putin wasn't tired to remind it all the time to Berlin.

Introduction: I am deeply honored and grateful to Dagmar Henn for allowing me to publish here an email she sent me recently. Let me immediately say that I do not agree with her main thesis (that the German government is not a vassal but an accomplice) but my personal views on this topic are irrelevant. What matters is that she makes a very interesting case and that if she is right, then my own analysis and, possibly, the Kremlin's, are wrong and that, in turn, could have major consequences on the future of this war on Russia (the Ukraine really being only a battlefield in a much wider attack on Russia).

It has been and will continue to be my policy to post documents on this blog even if I do not agree with them, as long as they are fact-based, logical and well written and they contribute to a more interesting analysis and discussion.

Dagmar Henn's piece definitely meet all these criteria and I am delighted to post it today.

As to those, especially in Germany, who might disagree with her, I invite them to send me a rebuttal which I will also post as long as it is substantive and contains absolutely no personal attacks on Henn or anybody else.

The German government is acting on it´s own accord as an accomplice, not a vassal of US strategy

The EU-association contracts the Kiew Junta signed binds the Ukrainian economy to the zone of German hegemony (the EU is now completely submitted to German interests). Signing the IMF contract was an EU demand. So the economic trap that actually forces the junta towards exterior aggression (just to save their own skin) is not a US invention, but a German one...

Steinmeier, the German minister of exterior, was head of the chancellery and therefore coordinator of secret service activities from 1999 to 2005. So he was deeply involved in Kosovo already. Later he pushed the association of Ukraine to EU. He is neither innocent nor someone interested in peace. He was the first one to talk about "territorial integrity" immediately after the coup.

Everybody remembers that Nuland in her famous phone-call demanded Jazenjuk for government. Nearly everybody forgot that she also said "no Swoboda". It was Steinmeier who opened the door for Swoboda. And if US media are silent about ukrainian Nazis, German media are mute. Even though it should be much easier for a German journalist to recognize them than for an American.

Not only in this blog, also in Russian media (as far as I manage to decipher them through Google-Translator) Germany is seen as a US vassal that could be a potential ally. (Putin repeated this idea in a speech to various ambassadors). If this position is aimed at the German public, it might work as a propagandistic idea, but it doesn´t even reach this public (there is no German channel of RT until today). If it is aimed at German politics, it is based upon a flawed analysis. It might be possible to create a split between Germany and it´s european neighbours (after they have been sucked dry economically in the last years to stabilize German industry and German banks); it is wasted effort between Germany and the US, because this is complicity, not dependancy. Like it was in Jugoslawia - the US gets the military bases, Germany gets the colonies.. (and if you remember the role of Croatian fashists, guess where they were stored all those decades before their reuse? Yes, in Munich).

German political rhetoric rarely tells the truth. Ask the Greek about it, who got "saved". Nothing that is said can be trusted. It´s just the deeds that tell the truth. And if there were any serious intention from the German side to move from escalation to diplomacy, there would be a breach in the information blockade to legitimize it. There isn´t. Not the slightest one. Just once there was a single information that went through - when Bild, Germany´s most awful journal, wrote about PMCs in Ukraine. They referred to a source in the BND. I think that was some kind of internal retaliation for the fake OSCE-show.

The relative stability of German economy is based upon a consequent "beggar-thy-neighbour"-policy. It´s result is the transformation of the EU into a semi-colonial structure with just one political and economical center: Germany (and just think of Hollande no longe being allowed to phone without Merkel). But this structure is far from stable, because it ran out of neighbours that are not yet beggared, and the fundamental economical crisis is far from over. So both sides of this partnership in aggression share the same problem, and no trade balance with Russia can fill this gap. Both need a real destruction of real values on a large scale, and they need it soon.

When the Wehrmacht started losing in 1943, they tried to analyse their errors. They came to the conclusion that before they ever started a war against Russia again, they should take care to secure all of Europes economic potential under their control. So it is a bit spooky to see that exactly this has been achieved during the last years.

It´s impossible to prove how tight the connection between German authorities and the Ukrainian Nazis are. German archives are tightly closed; all the dirt accumulated since 1945 is still hidden. As the CIA documents are accessable, US acts are public, while German ones stay hidden... But there are strong indications that the worst parts of the Ukrainian forces are German puppets, not American (starting with Timoshenko and Klitschko, but continuing into the full Bandera spectrum). They don´t need to be controlled directly. They run like on a track into the right direction, as soon as they are called on stage.

Around Munich there were more Nazis in official positions and more Bandera exiles than ever reached the US. German secret service BND (located in Pullach, a few kilometers from Munich) never dropped the old connections and it was formed out of the same people that held those connections during the war. There was a Ukrainian exile government in Munich, residing in Zeppelinstraße, there still is a ukrianian university; Munich was the headquarter of the ukrainian terrorists after 1945.

Right from independence there was a strong German influence in Ukraine. 1992 the German embassy in Kiew employed more personel than all other western embassies together (including the American). While British and American government officials at that time warned of strengthening nationalist tendencies in ex-SU-countries, the German government did everything to do exactly that (not only in Ukraine, by the way, but also in the Baltic states and...). So a floor full of CIA agents in Kiew might be not a sign of US strength in this drama, but rather the opposite, an attempt to catch up with German connections.

There is one strange historic resonance in the list of ukrainian events. Up to the 9th of May everything followed a timetable that somehow aimed at a reversion of WWII (culminating in what would have happened in Mariupol, if local police hadn´t rebelled). This timetable was mainly based upon historical events in Ukraine. But there is one exception. The Odessa massacre has two historic resonances; but both are not placed in Ukraine, but in Germany. On May 2 1919 Munich was conquered by the counterrevolution , followed by several days of massacre with up to 3 000 victims; the bloodiest event in German interior politics until the Nazis came into power. And on May 2 1933 the Nazis stormed the buildings of the German unions. That might be a coincidence; but if it isn´t, it is a strong indication of a German mind behind it.

(German Nazis are obsessed with historic references. Do you know why the first Concentration Camp was built in Dachau? The Bavarian Red Army won a battle there early in 1919... they wanted to extinguish even the memory; and they succeeded)

And then there is the basic question - the whole story looks too much like an attempt to revert WWII not to be exactly that. Now why would the US be tempted to revert WWII that lay the base for their present position? No reason at all. The ones who want to revert this war are the ones that lost it.

Even the new scandal about this NSA-spy in BND won´t have any consequences, as the whole NSA story didn´t. And won´t. Why? Just imagine it were the other way round, Germany being the country eager for war - what would be the consequence in relation to the USA? They are needed as nuclear shield... so they would have to be involved one way or the other, even if it were an exclusively German plan.

I might be wrong. I would love to be wrong. But Russian strategy at the moment seems to be aimed at a split between Germany and the US, and if I´m right, this strategy is completely futile. I see no plan B. Not even a serious attempt to reach German public. It preoccupies me profoundly.

German governments like to talk of peace. Until 5:44 in the morning.

German Foreign Minister Steinmeier had a complete fit of rage when he was interrupted during a speech by anti-Fascist demonstrators who were accusing the German regime of supporting Fascists in the Ukraine.  See for yourself for his reaction:


The good news is that this incident clearly shows that more and more people understand the nature of the conflict in the Ukraine and that more and more people are willing to stand up and protest what is being done in their name.

Open letter to Putin (or the real face of the "other" West!)

We all know that the western corporate media lies, that western politicians lie, that a big segment of the population in the West has been zombified into terminal stupidity.  But there is another West which is very rarely mentioned, whose voice is systematically ignored, which is categorically opposed to what is being done in its name by the ruling plutocracy and which refuses to shut up and obey.  All of us who have lived in the West know this and, I believe, most people outside the West do realize that too.  The truth is that the enemy of Russia today is also the enemy of the 99% of people in Europe and in the USA.  Of course, the 1%ers try to divide us all into small groups and oppose us to each other, and when that does not work, they try to scare us.  And still, some, many, see straight through this.

Today, thanks to a good German friend (thanks "FR"!!) who agreed to translate this letter especially for this blog now I have the translation into English of an "open letter to Putin" signed by large and diverse group of Germans who were touched by Putin's words about Germany and its reunification and who decided to reply to him in an open letter.  You can find the original of the letter here.  What follows is the full translation into English:

President Putin has turned in his speech to the reintegration of Crimea from March 18, 2014,  directly to the German people. This appeal deserves positive resonance that corresponds to the real feelings of the Germans, so how they got these days in ad hoc surveys to the expression. The unilaterally anti-Russian statements of many our mass media and politicians as well as the escalating actions of Berlin do not represent the German population and her increasing distance to the bellicose policy of the EU and NATO. Therefore, here is now an open letter to president Putin which will be handed over on Thursday to the Russian embassy in Berlin:

We are German citizens, who experienced the post-war period by the majority in the west half of Germany.  When the cold war 1990 was ended and our country was reunited, a sigh of relief went through the world, because the always threatening danger of a nuclear military conflict seemed avoided, which would have pulled the entire globe in. Germany would have been extinguished.
 
The Soviet Union has played the decisive role for the liberation of Europe from Nazism under incomparable victims.  Nevertheless, it was in 1990 ready to support the German reunification in 1991 to dissolve the Warsaw Pact and community to accept NATO membership total of Germany. This was not honored by the West.

The former Ambassador of the United States in Moscow (1987-1991), Jack Matlock, a few days ago in the Washington Post confirmed that President Bush promised not to exploit the generosity of President Gorbachev.

The expansion of NATO up to the former Soviet republics, the establishment of military bases in former Warsaw signatories and the construction of an anti-ballistic missile defense screen in East Europe with concurrent withdrawal from the ABM treaty on the part of the USA are all striking breaches of promise.

These measures are understood by us only as a claim to power by the western leadership power which are directed against the state and economic consolidation pursued by you of your land after your assumption of office in 2000.
 
Moreover, Keir A. Lieber and Daryl G. Press stated beyond that 2006 in „Foreign Affairs “with her article „to The Rise OF U.S. Nuclear Primacy” convincingly that the anti-missile defense screen is to make a nuclear first strike possible for the nuclear neutralization of Russia.
 
This background in condensed form is the background before which we assess the events in the Ukraine since November 2013. Meanwhile, it is widely documented that the United States has exploited the legitimate protests of the Ukrainian people for their own purposes. The pattern is familiar from other countries: Serbia, Georgia, Ukraine 2004, Egypt, Syria, Libya, Venezuela ...
 
The “interference” of the European Union and OSCE was swiftly taken care within twelve hours after the deal negotiated by the foreign ministers for a peaceful transition was overturned with the help of fascist forces.

Internal and international law questions about the secession of Crimea are differently answered. We want to evaluate them here not legally, but only  from a political point of view.
 
Against the background of developments in Europe since 1990, the deployment of some 1,000 U.S. military bases around the world, the control of the Straits by the U.S. and the outgoing of the perpetrators of the Maidan threat to the Russian Black Sea fleet, we see the secession of the Crimea as a defensive measure with a simultaneous message: up to here and no further!

The crucial difference with Kosovo's independence declaration is that the latter was made possible by the illegal bombing by NATO, unfortunately with the participation of Germany , which created the conditions for independence.
 
Dear Mr. President, you have called for an economic community from Lisbon to Vladivostok for almost four years. It would be the economic basis for the “common European home”.

The Ukraine could take up an ideal bridge function for the future cooperation between the Eurasian Union lead by you and the European Union, not least in cultural respect. We are persuaded that the massive influencing control of the USA has as its purpose prevent the Ukraine from becoming such a bridge.
 
The forces which have prevailed in the European Commission are supporting the policy of the United States against Russia. The speech of the Executive Secretary-General of the European external action service, Pierre Vimont, on March 14, this year is so unique (EurActiv: "EU shunned from US-Russia meeting on Ukraine").

Dear Mr. President, we trust that your historic speech in year 2001, will continue to form the basis for your actions against the EU and Germany in the German Bundestag. The latest polls show that the majority of Germans does not want any confrontation with the Russian Federation and are expressing understanding for Russian actions towards the Ukraine.

We do not underestimate the difficulties faced Federal Republic of Germany as a member of the EU and NATO concerning Russia, these are also known to you. However, at least we expect the Federal Government operate in the old Roman legal principle audiatur et altera pars ("hear the other side too”). This was omitted in connection with the neighborhood policy of the EU in the case of Ukraine.
 
Even during the Cold War Russia has not made use of the argument that 27 millions of its citizens died during WWII for political gain against Germany.  This figure alone  gives a special quality in the relations between our countries.
  
The people of Germany have a keen sense of to this: when  "The Group of Soviet forces in Germany" in year 1994 takes leave of  Germany with a performance of its music corps on the square before the Bundeskunsthalle in Bonn , there were moving scenes between the numerous spectators and musicians.

In this context, when we see the news reporting and commentaries in the German media we can only say that we find them disgusting.

Dear Mr. President, with our modest means as a simple citizen, we will help to ensure that the intended division of Europe does not succeed, but the ideas of Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz be brought back to new life.

We are convinced: only if the states and peoples of the Eurasian double continent regulate their affairs peacefully with one another, respectfully, cooperatively, on the basis of the right and without outside interference, this will radiate also into the remaining world. We see you in this sense as our ally.  For Your current, and hopefully also the next office period we wish you strength, power of endurance, intelligence and skillfulness.

One could say that 300 people is not that much for a country of 80 million people, but that would be mistaken.  These are not "just" 300 people.  These are 300 people willing to commit social and political seppuku and who dare to openly swim against what is arguable the worst hate and propaganda campaign since the end of WWII (I for sure do not recall such anti-Soviet hysteria during the Cold War).  Furthermore, these people are showing the rest of the terminally passive Europeans that it is possible to speak up and not only refuse to participate in this hate campaign, but even to openly challenge it.  In fact, these Germans go even further: they are calling Putin (the "New Hitler" and WorstAndMostEvilEnemyOfMankindEver) an 'ally' while rejecting their own national leadership.  That, my friends, takes a lot of guts.  It also proves that there is no such thing as historical inevitability.  If the country which attacked Russia not once, but twice in the 20th century can produce this can of awareness then no situation is hopeless.  I sure hope that this letter will be translated into Russia and circulated by the Russian media not just to show "support for Russia", but to show that the people of Europe are not all the enemies of the Russian people.

I don't know if that will actually happen, but I am sure there such letters are also possible outside Germany.  I am getting a lot of emails from readers in Europe who are disgusted and outraged by what is being done, supposedly in their name.  And the same goes for the USA and even central Europe.

I want to conclude this with a short except from the Book of Genesis:

And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous; I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know.  And the men turned their faces from thence, and went toward Sodom: but Abraham stood yet before the LORD. And Abraham drew near, and said, Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the wicked? Peradventure there be fifty righteous within the city: wilt thou also destroy and not spare the place for the fifty righteous that are therein? That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked: and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from thee: Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right? And the LORD said, If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sakes. And Abraham answered and said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord, which am but dust and ashes: Peradventure there shall lack five of the fifty righteous: wilt thou destroy all the city for lack of five? And he said, If I find there forty and five, I will not destroy it. And he spake unto him yet again, and said, Peradventure there shall be forty found there. And he said, I will not do it for forty's sake. And he said unto him, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak: Peradventure there shall thirty be found there. And he said, I will not do it, if I find thirty there. And he said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord: Peradventure there shall be twenty found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for twenty's sake. And he said, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak yet but this once: Peradventure ten shall be found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for ten's sake. And the LORD went his way, as soon as he had left communing with Abraham: and Abraham returned unto his place. (Genesis 18:17-33).

We all know how it ends: God sends two angels to remove Lot from the city and then He destroys Sodom and Gomorrah.  Thus it is said that "just one man can save a city".  

I think that the honor and dignity of 80 million Germans can be saved by the 300+ who followed the words of Stéphane Hessel and were outraged and followed the words of Yehuda Bower and refused to be bystanders.

Should any of them ever read these words - I respectfully salute them!
